Jail-Based Voter Registration
Catalyst Montana’s Justice Initiative is proud to announce the launch of our jail-based voter registration program.
We screen and train dedicated volunteers to go inside the jail facility, register eligible voters, and deliver completed forms directly to the county election office.
In Montana, individuals in jail awaiting trial or serving time for misdemeanor offenses are legally eligible to vote. This effort ensures that every eligible voter has access to the ballot box, regardless of their circumstances. By breaking down barriers to participation, we’re continuing our mission to protect and expand democracy.
We will be hosting trainings in the near future so be on the look out. Our goal is to implement our program throughout the state.
