On July 1, Montana DPHHS will begin implementing new "community engagement" requirements, better known as work requirements, for those applying for Medicaid and existing Medicaid enrollees.
These requirements are starting six months before federal requirements take effect in January 2027, putting tens of thousands at risk of losing their health coverage, because of unnecessary red tape, not because they are ineligible.
